抄録

A glass filler was grinded to different diameters ranging from 0.3-4.0 μm using a bead mill. The fillers were incorporated in composite resins for studying the effects of the filler size on the transmittance and the luster after polishing of the resins. The transmittance increases with decreasing filler diameter at < 0.5 μm by suppression of scattering of visible light. At the larger diameter range, the transmittance shows a minimum at about 1 μm. The luster was decreased with an increase in the diameter because of the inhomogeneity of the resin surface consisting of the large fillers and the matrix.
