Tsunami warning of major tsunami/tsunami was issued by The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) in the morning of the next day of occurrence of the magnitude 8.8 earthquake off the Chilean coast on February 27, 2010, and it was followed by issuance of evacuation warning alerts by local goverments in Pacific Ocean coastal regoins. Authors have conducted a series of investigation on resident evacuation from the tsunami expected to hit the regions, by personal interviews to 381 residents in 82 districts of 25 cities and towns in Ehime, Kochi and Tokushima Prefectures in Shikou region. Moreover, a comparative study was carried out in Iwate and Chiba Prefectures as well. This paper discusses the triggering of evacuation of residential people in the three Shikoku prefectures.
