The number of"Happy"emotion minus that of"Unhappy"emotion was considered as "palliative score". The scores were compared among bathing A 1，bathing B, and bathing A2 using a analysis of variance, and then using a multiple comparison. Significant differences were observed between A1 and B(p=0.003) and A2 and B(p=0.002), respectively. In conclusion, it was observed that aromatherapy using rose water had palliative effects on the emotions of the elderly with dementia in the bathing process.
