Abstract
It is difficult to have the strict definition of e-Science. This paper place the e-Science in two perspectives and two orientations. Two perspectives are the research process which emphasis on research community, and the infrastructure which emphasis on the position how support the new science. Two orientations are technical on the hand, social on the other hand. And four components of e-Science as the research process are in detail. Recently "open science" and "data sharing" have been frequently discussed. Although researchers seem to recognize the efficiency or benefit of sharing research data with others, concrete actions have not yet occurred.
