Abstract
This paper shows some examples work using Sun Microsystem's SunSpot at Toyota Natonal College of Technology. SunSpot is designed for engineering education, and it focuese on development of wireless sensor network devices. This paper first shows first shows five cases of graducation work using SunSpot. This paper shows an analysis of each study from the perspective of engineering education. SunSpot basically provides the following four educational benefits:(1) to study low-power wireless communication,(2) to study how to handle internal sensor devices,(3) to study how to work external devices like GPS modules and motors using digital I/O, and (4) to study Java programming language itself.
