Abstract

Yamasaki, Sasaki, Uchida, Katsuma, and Matsumoto (2011) developed a universal prevention education program named “TOP SELF (Trial Of Prevention School Education for Life and Friendship) .” This article explained about the educational programs for development of understanding and regulating emotions that are one of the comprehensive base education programs in TOP SELF. Moreover, among the programs, the one for 3rd−grade children at elementary schools was focussed. First, the structure of the hierarchical purposes for this program was introduced. Next, after clarifying the differences in purposes between grades, concrete educational methods were explained for the 3rd grade in detail, which included the plans for class guidance and blackboard demonstration, along with the detailed scenarios, for teachers. Since the programs are implemented for eight classes in total, the educational methods were depicted by the class.
