Abstract

Recently, the input devices, using the touch panel and the acceleration sensor, which achieve intuitive operation and offering enjoyment receive attention. On the other hand, joysticks are used as popular input device of mobile robots. They are superior in the point of efficient operation, but there is a limitation when thinking about other point of view like the enjoyment etc. In this research, we newly developed a pedal type input device to achieve intuitive operation and offer enjoyment for controlling mobile robots by taking into account the element of exercise. We have evaluated the usability of the device by experiments.
