抄録

A new analytical model for joint shear failure of reinforced concrete knee joints is proposed. The model is an application of the theory for interior beam-column joints developed by one of authors. The objective of this paper is to demonstrate that the theory is applicable to knee joint without arbitrary or empirical factors considering the difference in geometry of interior and knee joint. It is revealed that the reinforcing detail in knee joint is sensitive to the joint strength and failure mode. To apply the model to variety of knee joint with different reinforcing detail, three generic types of knee joint are identified based on the type of anchorage. Analytical results are compared with test results. The results obtained by the theory shows good correlation with the experimental results.
