Abstract

This paper reports the repeated tests for moment-resistant characteristics of column-nuki joint of the traditional wooden frame used in the full-scale vibration tests. The appearance of moment-rotation curve in small deformation region is different from that in large deformation region. The curve in large deformation region seems to consist of three parts : virgin loading curve, reverse loading curve and experienced loading curve. The approximate expressions are presented here for the moment-rotation curve in small deformation region and three curves in large deformation region. On these approximate expressions, models of hysteresis curves are proposed. The compressive strain inclined to the grain was clearly observed in the 30-60 percents of the whole area of wedge inserted in column.
