Recently, some pile heads with pin or semi-rigid connection are designed in order to reduce stresses of the foundation beams. However, the systematic study has yet to be done on the influence of the pile head condition on the response of the super structures and piles. The purpose of this study is to clarify how nonlinear behavior of pile heads affects responses of super structures and piles. The analytical result showed that the response of super structures and piles depended significantly on the structural behavior of pile heads and are strongly affected by the natural period and the damping factor of the super structure, soil condition, and the hysteretic behavior of the interaction between soil and piles.
