To examine relationship between snow load and seismic performance of wood-frame houses, the authors carried out seismic response analysis. 62 wood-frame houses built in Sapporo were analyzed. Snow depth 0.0m, 1.0m 1.5m, 2.0m used for seismic design were set in the analysis. In the analysis, to examine snow load dependence of relationship between scale of strong motion and the seismic performance of the houses, maximum response displacement of the houses were calculated. The results of the analysis are as follows. 1) In JMA seismic intensity scale "6 lower", snow load dependence of the maximum response displacement was small. When the maximum response displacement increased in more than JMA seismic intensity scale "6 upper", the damage by the collapse increased with an increase of the snow load. 2) The maximum response displacement of 2F in the houses increased with an increase of snow load. In seismic reinforcement of the houses, it is necessary to consider it for not only iF but also 2F.
