A lagscrewbolt was developed as a simple and economical moment-resisting connector for glulam constructions. In this study, we developed new beam-column and column base joints for one directional timber portal frame using lagscrewbolts having an external thread. The joints were composed of a special nut, a steel plate and a special steel connector. The beam-column joints which are almost same as previous reports, and column base joints which are composed of a new base joint tool, were evaluated and the design methods were proposed. As a result, the joint systems showed good perfonnances for example stifthess, strength and ductility, and they were agreed with analytical results.
