Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the method of evaluating the seismic performance of the retrofitted existing column by wing walls connected by post-installed anchors. An experiment that had three types of specimens, individual column, wing walls and the column with wing walls, was conducted. The experimental variables were anchor ratio at vertical joint and web reinforcement ratio of the column and wing wall. The shear strength of the seismic retrofitted column by wing walls connected by enough strength anchors was evaluated as the monolithic column with wing walls. The method to calculate the required post-installed anchor ratio between column and wing walls to ensure the monolithic behavior at the joint was obtained. The criterion to separate two types of failure mode, shear failure of whole element and slip failure along the vertical joint, was proposed.
