Experimental and theoretical studies are conducted on the design formula of a wide flange beam-column subjected to various loading conditions. In the present design scheme, it is necessary to choose a different design formula according to the individual loading condition. It is preferable to use the same design formula regardless of the loading conditions. In this study wide flange beam-columns were subjected to eccentric loadings experimentally. In the numerical analysis, the deflection curves were approximated by the second order finite difference expression. The design formula proposed by the authors' group shows a good agreement with experimental and numerical results. However the proposed formula gives unsafe side estimation for weak axis bending.
