S114052 各種雰囲気下におけるDLC膜の摩擦・摩耗特性([S11405]機素潤滑設計部門 第17回卒業研究コンテスト(5)) [in Japanese] S114052 Effect of surrounding atmosphere on friction and wear characteristics of DLC film [in Japanese]

DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) film holds promise to a lot of machine elements as a hard thin film with an excellent frictional property and wear resistance. We focused on surrounding atmospheric effects on tribological characteristics of DLC film. DLC film was synthesized by PBII&D (Plasma Based Ion Implantation & Deposition) method. Tribological properties were evaluated in air, decompression hydrogen and high vacuum condition by using a ball-on-disk sliding tester. As a result, lower friction coefficients were shown in the vacuum and the hydrogen condition though steady friction behavior was shown in the air. Wear property also changed by the atmospheric conditions.
