Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the relationship among regional health care resource, view of health, and individual self-rated health using multilevel analysis. Data are Social survey for residents living in Sendai, hospital list and clinic list. Regional health care resources have neither relation to the view of health nor to self-rated health. However, interaction term between hospitals and the view of health is negatively related to self-rated health. These results suggest that hospitals in region could moderate the relation between self-rated health and the view of health which was influenced by social circumstances, though regional health care resources would not directly influence individual health.
