Abstract

感覚統合理論は,1960年代にアメリカの作業療法士A.Jean Ayresにより提唱されました.1980年代に我が国に紹介され,現在に至っています.学習障害児の生活上の困難の原因を神経生理学的な視点から理解する点が特徴であり,現在では世界各国で学習障害児のみならず,発達障害児・者全般に応用されています.感覚統合理論では特に触覚・前庭感覚・固有受容感覚の3つの感覚が統合されることが発達の基礎として重要であると考えられています.また,これらの感覚は本人が能動的に内的欲求に基づき体験することが重要であるとし,「あそび」という形で子どもたちが楽しく経験できるような環境を準備することが支援者の役割となります.これらのあそびにおいては、さまざまなおもちゃや遊具、環境が欠かせません。今回は,子どもの発達を促す豊かなあそび環境について,感覚統合の視点を通してお話ししたいと思います.

Sensory integration theory has been introduced by Jean Ayres, occupational therapist, in the 1960s of America. It was introduced in Japan in the 1980s. Characteristic of sensory integration theory is a neurophysiological understanding of the difficulties in the life of a child with learning disability. In recent years it is not only applied to learning disabled children, but also to developmentally disordered children and adults around the world. Especially the integration, based on active experience, of the three tactile, vestibular and proprioceptive senses is considered important for the development of children in this theory. Therapists and supporters role includes preparing environments where can have fun through experiencing "play". For this play, which aims to promote the development of children, toys and play-ground like equipments in a variety of environments is essential. On this occasion, I would like to present an overview of the sensory integration perspective and rich play environments that promote the children's development.
