Abstract

水素は、自然界にも生体にも最も豊富に存在するかつ最も単純な元素である。2007年、日本医科大学太田成男教授らは水素が抗酸化、抗アポトーシスの特性を有し、脳虚血及び再灌流障害を惹起させた動物実験においてショックに伴って生成するヒドロキシルラジカルから選択的に保護できることを見出していたので、治療用医療ガスや水素ナノバブル水は話題となった。この発見によって、水素医学分野は 2007 年以来急速に形成されてきた。本研究は、ビブリオメトリックスの研究手法を用い、2007 年 1 月〜2014 年 10 月に発表された 357 報 SCI(Science Citation Index)水素医学論文を分析して、論文の時系列的な質と量の趨勢を明らかにした。結果としては、基礎研究が占めた割合は多かったが、糖尿病、動脈硬化、高血圧、悪性腫瘍のような 70 種類以上に及ぶ疾患も研究対象となっていたことが分かった。臨床実験では 2013 年、大阪物療大学李と三羽らは、22 名褥瘡患者に一日 600 mL の水素ナノバブル水を経管胃内投与した結果、褥瘡サイズ縮小と患者の早期治癒退院平均日数を見出し、経管栄養法を介した水素水の摂取による臨床有効性は明らかにした。これから、有望な水素医学は様々な疾病の治療オプションの 1 つとして、基礎から臨床まで広範に研究されていくことが期待できる。

Hydrogen is a simplest and most abundant chemical element that exists in the universe and living body. In 2007, Dr. Ikuroh Ohsawa and Professor Shigeo Ohta affiliated from Nippon Medical School had found out that hydrogen has the effects for the anti-oxidization and anti-apoptosis, and can protect alternatively brain for an ischemia, re-perfusion obstacle, and shock in vitro from the hydroxyl radical. Therefore, medical gas therapy and nano-bubble hydrogen-dissolved water have become a hot topic. The aims of this paper were to review the achievements of hydrogen medicine and to clarify its tendency of the related literatures. The Web of Science of Thomson Reuters was used to investigate the related SCI literatures published from 2007 to October 2014 on the hydrogen medicine. Then, the research technique of bibliometrics was used to analyze the 357 SCI papers. Including Japan and China, the researchers of many countries have achieved a lot of results of research, and it was found that the number of paper published is increasing quickly. There was a higher proportion of basic research to clinical study which accounted in those papers. Furthermore, more than 70 kinds of the diseases and syndromes, as like diabetes, arteriosclerosis, hypertension, and malignant tumor, were reported as the effective cases that were treated with the hydrogen gas or water. Dr. Qiang Li and Professor Nobuhiko Miwa et al. had reported that twenty-two severely hospitalized elderly Japanese patients with pressure ulcers (PU) were retrospectively divided into an effective group (EG, n=12) and a less effective group (LG, n=10). PU hospitalized days in EG were significantly shorter than in LG (113.3 days vs. 155.4 days, p<0.05), and the shortening rate was approximately 28.1%. Either in EG or in LG, the reducing changes (EG: 91.4%; LG: 48.6%) of wound size represented statistically significant difference versus before HW intake (p<0.05, p<0.001). It is expectable that the promising hydrogen medicine is extensively studied from the fundamental research to clinical practice as one of the selective option for treating various illnesses.
