Abstract
This paper presents a study on impact strength of induction hardened SCM435 steel gears. Impact tests were carried out for induction hardened SCM435 steel gears of different heating time and tempering temperature. By measuring the hardness and observing the micro-structure of hardened layer of the induction hardened SCM435 steel gears, the effects of heating time and tempering on impact strength were considered.
