抄録

Effect of phosphate ester on boundary lubrication performance of organomolybdenum compound was studied in order to understand the lower friction mechanism at the condition of combination of additives. Ball on plate type spinning friction test was conducted, and molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) and three types of phosphate ester were used as additives in this study. The test in the MoDTC containing lubricant was conducted after the test in the phosphate ester containing lubricant. Results show that friction coefficient after the test in MoDTC is lower than that in phosphate ester, and the lower friction performance continue during one hour test in MoDTC. From EDX analysis results, the chemical reaction film on the friction surface after the test in MoDTC consists of phosphate, oxygen and sulfur. These results suggest that the chemical reaction film formed in phosphate ester may affect the formation of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and offer the high performance for the lower friction of MoDTC.
