- J056011 Development of High Density and High Strength Solid Bio-fuel based on Used Pencil and Used Sox
抄録
Unused biomass resources are classified as those that have no value as a resource after being used and those that still have potential value. Socks, towels, pencils, miscellaneous paper wastes, etc., have potential thermal energy value. From the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions that cause global warming and the viewpoint of fossil fuel resource depletion problem, high density and high hardness solid fuel has been attracting attention as a new solid bio-energy in which self-sufficiency in Japan is possible. Assuming a pair of socks is approximately 40g, 50,000 tons of discarded socks can be collected. On the other hand, with 30 t of abandoned pencils already available, it is thought that a total of about 1,950 t can be collected annually. Mechanical compressive tests in this study revealed that the physical properties of socks Bio-coke include a cold maximum compressive strength of 84 MPa and a hot maximum compressive strength of 2 MPa at 973 K.
