抄録

Friction consolidated using AZ31 magnesium alloy chips. Microstructures and mechanical properties of consolidated specimen were investigated effect of preheating process. Except the chips in all conditions it is possible to obtain a high-density molded body having no voids, relative density was 98% or more. Average grain size of the consolidated specimen become fine with decrease of the preheating pressure and got a value lower than one-half in comparison with the base metal in consolidated central part. The hardness cured with the grain refinement. The tensile strength showed a tendency to rise equally and showed joint efficiency of 78% in comparison with the base metal at the maximum.
