ICONE19-43349 Integrated Simulation Model for GMA Welding by Coupling Arc Plasma and Bead Formation with Thermal Distortion

抄録

In recent years, computational simulation models have been developed to study various welding phenomena, such as arc plasma, droplet transfer, bead formation of the welding pool, and welding metallurgical and mechanical behaviors. As welding technologies progress, integrated welding simulation models that clarify the interaction of these complex welding phenomena should be considered. In the present study, the thermal transport properties of gas metal arc welding are integrated with arc plasma, bead formation of the welding pool, and the thermal stress-strain characteristics during the welding. A simulation model is composed of the sequential coupling of the arc plasma model, the bead formation model, and the thermal elastic-plastic model. Three cases of varying welding speed and current are tested, and the penetration shapes and the welding distortion are used to compare the analytical and experimental results of bead-on-plate welding. The analytical results agree relatively well with the experimental results.
