Abstract

ZnDTP has two roles as antioxidants and antiwear agents. This additive forms tribo-films which improve tribological properties. For clarification of the improving mechanism, most of the investigations show analyzed results of the composition of tribo-films. However the relationship between the tribological properties and the tribo-film formation process has not been clarified. In this study, the formation process of the tribo-films was investigated with FT-IR. The sliding surfaces were analyzed in l, 5, 10, 30 minutes, and the time-dependent change of these spectra were observed. The formation process of tribo-films derived from ZnDTP was discussed from the friction behavior and the analyzed results.
