抄録

Kenji's "Notes on the Outline of Peasant Art" was written on the promise of his association, based upon his lecture "The Outline of Peasant Art" at Iwate National High School. A year before his retirement from agricultural school, he declared that in his letter to Yoshimatsu Sugiyama that he would become a true farmer. Also in the same letter, he intended to organize a peasant theater as a practical movement. Because he wanted to instruct art as well as agricuIture, he took the position of the national high school for his own theory for the instruction of art. But he could not carry through art movement and after that, he devoted himself to instruction of agriculture only. Judging from his first view of peasant movement, this might be his deterioration.
