- S1120302 Prediction method for Hypoid gears mesh power loss
抄録
Continuous improvement of the fuel economy of vehicles is strongly needed to protect the global environment and save energy. One effective way to improve vehicle fuel economy is to reduce the meshing friction of hypoid gear drives. In this paper, a method of predicting hypoid gear mesh efficiency with high accuracy is proposed. A new method of predicting hypoid gear mesh efficiency precisely was developed, which involves calculating the load distribution, sliding velocity, and coefficient of friction at each meshing point along the path of contact, taking into account not only the gear dimensions but also actual tooth geometries.
