For the rotor dynamic fluid force (RD fluid force) in the annular plain seal, linear bulk flow theory has been used with the assumption with small whirling amplitude. In this paper, the case of concentric circular whirl with moderate whirling amplitude such as a half of clearance is considered, and the nonlinear bulk flow theory is investigated. As a result, it is confirmed that the nonlinear component in RD fluid force is small and the linear bulk flow theory is effective for the case with the whirling amplitude up to a half of clearance.
