大分市では1960年代以降,新産業都市の指定を契機とする人口急増に対応して,丘陸地や台地を利用して郊外住宅団地の開発が進められた。初期には公共セクターによる戸建て住宅と集合住宅が共存する大規模な住宅団地開発が行われ,新たなライフスタイルの定着を促した。その後,民間ディベロッパーによる戸建て住宅を主体とする住宅団地開発が,近年は集合住宅の開発が多く行われている。大量に供給された住宅団地ではほぼ同時期の入居者が加齢することで高齢者が大量に生み出されており,周辺の郊外農村地域よりは低いものの,高齢化率は確実に上昇している。### The industrialization conducted by the New Industrial City Project of Japan has promoted its population growth after 1970's of Oita-City. Public agency and private enterprises have developed a lot of residential estates in its suburban area to cope with the population growth. Aging of the current resident has advanced rapidly in those residential estates in few decades.
