Abstract

NCEP/NCARの再解析デ竏茶^の海上風を用いて北太平洋の長期波浪推算を行い,北太平洋および日本周辺の過去50年間の波浪の再現計算を行った.波浪推算結果と洋上ブイ観測値と比較を行った結果,推算された波高と観測値の相関係数は0.72と再解析データの風速とほぼ同程度の精度を持つことを明らかにした.ついで,波高分布および極致統計分布の比較を行い,北太平洋における暴風時の波浪の分布特性について検討を行い,北太平洋および日本周辺の確率波高の分布を推定した.

The study investigates 50 years' wave simulation in Northern Pacific using the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis surface wind fields. The reanalysis wind fields are applied to the third generation wave model with the grid spacing of 0.5 degree both in latitude and longitude. The numerical results are compared with observed wind and wave data to verify the model performance. The validation gives good agreement with the means, biases, scatters and probability distributions. A long-term trend of wave climate shows statistically significant increase of wave heights and periods at the Northern Pacific Ocean. The extreme wave statistics gives 50 and 100 years extreme wave heights and may contribute a first guess of extreme wave heights in this area.
