There are two stone engravings of literary figureLiu Zongyuan in LiuHou Ci (Memorial Temple) in LiuZhou city China─ one produced in Liucheng Prefecture and the other in Maping Prefecture. Both are reengravings of the early Yuan Dynasty period, and based on the same original work created between the periods of the Tang and the middle Bei Song dynasties. Specifically, the images are believed to have been copied in the year 1092, and engraved in stone in the year 1113. The portraits were altered in the process of copying and engraving, and in their subsequent replications during the early Yuan Dynasty. Although the two existing stone engravings were supposedly based on the same engraving, there are subtle differences in details, and they were not created from the same ink rubbing. The portrait from Liucheng Prefecture is closer to the image of the engraving created in 1092.
