自然災害の発生しやすい我が国においては、家庭や社会をはじめ、学校においても、その被害を予防するための取り組みが必要とされている。ところが現状では、過去に甚大な被害を経験した地域や、今後大きな被害が予測されている地域を除くと、災害予防のための取り組みが積極的に行われているとは言えない。多くの学校では、避難訓練のみの実施となっており、それ以外の取り組みをどのように行うべきかわからないとの声も耳にする。このような現状を踏まえ、本稿では、我が国における先進的な防災教育の取り組みや、防災教育を実施するうえで利用可能な教材を紹介することにより、具体的な防災教育の方法について考えていく。また社会心理学的な観点から防災教育を実施するうえで考慮すべき点を述べ、今後の防災教育のあり方について筆者の考えを述べる。

In Japan, people experienced a lot of serious natural disasters. Thus, not only for household, company, or local community, but also for school, active intervention for protection against disasters is needed. However, except the area that already experienced a serious damage, or the area that are said to experience some serious damage in the future, there are few active interventions for protection against disasters. Based on this problem, this report introduces some advanced intervention programs, and some useful teaching materials for education for disasters. Furthermore, from the perspective of social psychology, this report proposed some matters to be attended, and discussed future directions for effective ways for education for disasters.
