Abstract

Amidst the recent increasing emphasis on university evaluation and educational quality assurance, more and more universities have introduced a class evaluation system based on students' feedback This system is growing in importance as a measure to not only boost teachers' efforts to improve education, but also to assess students' academic achievement. The Institute for Higher Education Research and Practice launched the "Questionnaires for Class Improvement" in academic year 2002 but has not closely examined whether the questionnaires are working effectively. By surveying teachers who use the evaluation system, this study intends to consider substantial measures for improving Osaka University's general education curriculums with a focus on how to manage the questionnaires and provide web links to FD (faculty development) Workshop materials.
