抄録

This review focused on the transition of the concepts and scales of "generativity," a psychosocial developmental task in middle age. In early times, Erikson (1963) introduced generativity with a focus on the "generative concern"as a parent. Moreover, later, he redefined it in the broader sense of the term, including "creativity." Subsequent to his studies, in the 1980s, some generativity scales focused on the concern as a parent were constructed and adopted. In 1992, McAdams & Aubin introduced the five aspects of generativity, including both "generative concern" as a parent and creativity, and constructed the "Loyola Generativity Scale (LGS)." In Japan, Marushima (2007)introduced the Japanese generative concern scale, which focused on "creativity."
