The Oomiwa-Uji is an ancient family who performed religious services on Mt. Miwa under the Yamato sovereignty. An enormous amount of research has been built up about this family in various fields of study. However, there are few works that take the general development of the family as a central theme of research. Therefore, in this article, I analyze the achievements of the people of the family and the development of the family inchronological order. As a result, I clarify the achievements of the people of the family from the fifth century to the eighth century. First, I describe fictitious people of the Oomiwa-Uji clan, namely Ootataneko, Ootomonushi, and Iwatoko. Second, I look at the people from the fifth century to the sixth century : Musa, Kotohi and Sakau. Third, I describe the people from the early to middle seventh century, namely Osazaki, Funya and Togane. Fourth, I talk about the peoplein the late seventh century, Koobito and Takechimaro. This paper covers a long-term span, and traces the ups and downs of the family. Such an approach is essential to clarify the characteristics of the family. In the article, I offer my personal opinions about the blood relationships and the genealogy of Ootataneko, the date of origin and development process of the Mt. Miwa religious services, and the reason whyTakechimaro remonstrated against the Emperor’s going to Ise. I hope to discuss these points in greater detail in my next article.
