Abstract

Based on the internalized Japanification in the past and the acceptance of Japanese subculture nowadays in Taiwan, I focus on how BL ("boy's love") as a subculture and a kind of fantasy has been imported and reconstructed in Taiwan. Further, to read the specific meaning of sexuality from " BL fantasy", I use the homosociality theory to analyze that fujoshi take a third person position away from the object of fantasy, and reread the homosexual relationship between men which has been concealed by homophobia and misogyny into BL couplings through the introduction of the love code between men and excluding women from that relationship. Depending on that, I take the practices of Taiwanese fujoshi in Japanese and Taiwanese " Butler Cafés " as examples, finding out that " distance " plays the most important role in " BL fantasy". What " distance " means in the process of constructing " BL fantasy " is not only the distance between butlers and consumers, but the " distance " which cuts off the continuity between homosexuality and homosociality is also important. Through constructing " BL fantasy", fujoshi can relate to the ideal love relationship and have romantic fantasy they project onto BL couplings, and this is what is meant by the sexuality of "BL fantasy".
