家庭科の住生活領域においては、体験的な活動を促す実験材料等の開発が十分行われてきたとは言えない。そこで本研究では、生徒が体験的・実践的に学ぶことのできる実験材料の開発を行うことを目的とし、授業実践において検証した。中学2年生2クラス79名の生徒を対象に、実験材料を用いた授業を行い、以下のことをあきらかにした。実験材料は段ボールで作成し、全面を透明にして中の様子が見えるようにし、窓の開け方を4通りに変えて、中の線香の煙の動きから、換気の様子をモデル化して観察できるようにしたものである。ワークシート等の記述により、生徒たちは、窓の開け方による違いを観察することができ、空気の動きをとらえることができていた。さらに、4通りのパターンを示したことで、自分の家の間取りでできる工夫を考えやすくなり、実践につながりやすいと考えられた。よって今回、開発した教材には一定の効果が認められ、教材開発の視点としては、個別場面を想定しやすくする工夫と視覚化することが有効であるといえよう。Teaching materials for studies through experience have not been developed sufficiently###at the teaching of home economics education of dwelling life in Japan. The purpose of this###research is development of teaching materials for students' practical studies through their###own experience. The experiment was carried out during actual classes by using original###experimental material,for total 79 students of 2 different 2nd year classrooms at a###junior high school.###The experimental material is a corrugated sheet box which has incense stick inside,###and windows for ventilation. Also the front panel of the box is transparent. Students###can open the window by 4 different ways and see how the smoke of incense stick moves###depending on the ways of opening window.###Students' worksheet shows that they understood different 4 patterns of fluid motion of###air inside the box depending on how they opened the window,and also they are supposed###to apply this experiential study to the plans of their own houses.The result shows that###this experimental teaching material has certain effect on students' practical studies###through experience, and it suggests that finding way to let the students assume actual###cases through visualization is effective method for development of teaching materials.
