Abstract

This tutorial is made for new users of RIAM Ocean Model and DREAMS prediction system. Such users are recommended to read all options defined at options.h, the scalar parameters in params.h and the main routine of riamom.F at the earliest opportunity. Altimeter data assimilation is performed with assim.h and sub_assim.F. The surface and bottom boundary conditions are carefully prepared for better accuracy. The cron process of Unix/Linux OS allows fully automatic operations of the prediction system from forcing input to displaying output. Many technical features explained in this report will help the correct understanding and usage of the prediction system.
