This aim of this paper is to examine the changes of residential pattern in Nottingham City, England by the framework of social area analysis. This research used the wards as analytical units and the 2001 and 2011 census data. The white color and blue color workers refer to the social rank or economic status. The white color workers extend east and west sector from city center. Blue color workers focus the north and south edges of the City. Unemployed people focus the north and east sectors of the City. About urbanization or family status, young people focus near the city center because two famous universities locate there. Elder people focus the west and south sectors of the City. While black and other minority groups focus near the city center, white ethnic group tends to focus the edge of the City. But since 2001, non-white minority group has tended to diffuse wards in the edge of the City which white people dominated. This trend means that ethnic differences between wards will decline in importance.
