One person was killed, more than 359 were injured. The number of totally-collapsed houses was nearly 600, and partially-collapsed houses were over 1,500. Five days after the occurrence of the earthquake, the authors visited the most stricken areas: Monzen-machi-Toge, Wajima city, Anamizu-machi, and Nanao-city, and inspected the damage state of buildings. This paper mainly reports on the damage to wooden-framed structures and their impressions of the field survey.
