日本の下請制は, 戦時統制期に拡大したが, 本格的な展開を遂げたのは高度成長期である。本稿では, この時期の自動車産業を事例に, 下請制が形成されていった理由とその特徴を明らかにした。特に, 高度成長期の初期に下請制に組み入れられていった下請中小企業と自動車メーカーの労働力構成の違い, 当時求められていた生産の急拡大とコスト・品質管理の徹底など, この時期特有の条件が下請制の拡大と特徴を生み出していった。 Although the Japanese subcontracting system expanded during the wartime controls era, its full-scale development occurred in the high economic growth era. In this study, I consider the automobile industry during this period as a case study to clarify the reasons and features for the formation of the subcontracting system. Specifically, the differences between labor force structures of subcontracted small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) integrated into the subcontracting system of the early periods of the high economic growth era and the automobile manufacturers, the exhaustiveness demanded at the time for sudden production expansion together with cost and product quality control, and so on, all facilitated the expansion and features of the subcontracting system within the conditions specific to this era.
