Abstract

This paper attempts to clarify body sense through comparison between the features of giant characters in animations, i.e., Gundam series, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Shingeki no Kyojin, from the perspective of Karada and Mi. With the passage of the products, inorganic and sturdy Karada became more alive, eventually overwhelmed Mi. And the connection of Karada and Mi became closer, but their relationship is poles in Shingeki no Kyojin, in which they conglutinate with each other or are far detached. These transition seemed to connected with consuming society in the 1980s when people express themselves by their appearances or property, depressive society in the 1990s when fragility human come to fore by the end of bubble economy and present-day society in which we live in both reality and virtual reality space because of development of IT technology. Today's theme of body sense is that Karada and Mi adequately cooperate with each other.
