Abstract

Over the past few years, several studies have been made on stress transfer between steel and concrete using burring shear connector and perfobond-rib shear connector (PBL) respectively by push-out test and bending test of beams. The purpose of this study is to examine the constraining effect of reinforcing bars for slip behavior of the shear connector in concrete by push-out test. The test parameters are the kind of the shear connector (the machining of steel plate), the number of reinforcing bars, and the loading cycle. The result clearly shows that transverse reinforcing bars allow the stress transfer mechanism of the shear connector to improve.
