Student mobility has much increased significantly since 2012, thanks to the active engagement\ of the Japanese government in providing financial support for college students going overseas\ to study. However, there has been some difficulty to increase the number of students applying\ for university exchange programs in these past two years, while the opportunities such as study\ abroad programs, various international exchange programs and events for college students\ have significantly increased in number. This paper analyzes the survey conducted among\ students who attended information sessions for study abroad programs held at Ochanomizu\ University in April and October of 2014. Some tendencies corresponding to the recent\ research about college students are observed. It also analyzes the decision making process of\ the students in planning study abroad and their future career. Based on the results this pilot\ study proposes some key solutions to increase and promote study abroad programs as well as\ suggestions for student marketing.
