Abstract

We interviewed 14 experts of the display of art and science museums and schematized their comments using two application softwares; MAXQDA 11J and Inspiration 6.0J. The 408 provided comments were arranged to 12 topics shown in Table 3. They are (1) concept of art and science museums, (2) producing display items and display space, (3) special exhibitions versus permanent exhibitions, (4) curators and science communicators, (5) visitor's manner and the satisfaction of them, (6) sensibility Qzansei), (7) commentary devices such as voice guidance, (8) commentary methods, (9) commentary policy, (10) commentary sentences and their features, (11) appreciation education, and (12) modern art. We expect that the people concerned with museum display will use the comments shown in the present study and will refine their display commentaries by adopting effective suggestions to each other.
