「外国語の習得や専門分野に関連した施設見学や研修体験を通じて異文化への理解や多文化共存の重要性について学ぶとともに、修了後は自国での専門職教育における学びのモチベーションの向上につなげる。」ことを目的として、約1 週間、南オーストラリア州（SA）にあるアデレイドへ学生10 名と引率大学教職員2名とで専門的かつ実践的な研修を実施した。そこで今回、本研修が国際交流として本学の学生に与えた影響と教育効果を明らかにし、今後の保健福祉研修への示唆を得ることを目的としてアンケート調査を行った。結果、現地で様々な触れ合いを通して言語は多様なコミュニケーションツールの一つであることに気づき、また文化の違いによる価値観の異なりを実感し異文化理解へとつながった。そして専門職としての理解を深めるきっかけを得、修了後のモチベーション向上を期待できる学生の反応であった。これらのことより、本研修は目的を達成するものであるといえる。

In the present study, a total of 10 college students and 2 accompanying teachers stayed in Adelaide, South Australia, for approximately one week in order to participate in specialized and practical training. The students’ goals in this training were to understand cultural differences and the importance of multicultural symbiosis, and to increase their motivation to learn about their field by studying English and observing facilities related to their field. This study aimed to obtain an insight into improving health and welfare training by clarifying the educational effects of training as international communication on these students. By participating in the training, these students realized that a language is one of the communication tools, understood differences in values and cultures, and deepened their understanding of their own field, which indicated an increase in their motivation to pursue their field. Thus, the goals of our training were generally achieved.
