Abstract

Yiu-Mien, a dialect of Mien, has several processses to construct derivational forms from adjectives. This paper describes some aspects of the adjective, derivation, tring to illustrate the nature of those processes. Yiu'Mien possesses three processes of derivation from adjectives, which utilize reduplication and/or compounding. The paper also describes some interesting patterns of tone alternation involved in them.
