[要旨] 千葉大学大学院看護学研究科とサンディエゴ大学看護学部は平成23年６月に学術交流の部局間協定を締結し，国際交流を推進してきている．このたび，本研究科とサンディエゴ大学による大学院生を対象とした共同教育を実施したので報告する．本研究科の看護システム管理学専攻実践看護評価学の大学院生４名，大学院修了の研究生１名がサンディエゴ大学に短期留学を実施し指導教授が引率した．目的は，海外の医療政策および看護教育・実践を知ることによって，気づいた学びを各自のキャップストーン・プロジェクトに活かすこと，ならびにサンディエゴ大学看護学部に新設されたBayster看護教育研究所を訪問し，米国医学研究所（Institute of Medicine：IOM）看護の未来レポートにある米国の新しい取り組みを通し，看護管理者として看護専門職の新しい役割について学ぶこととした．共同教育の実施による学生の学びに加えて，両大学の学生同士の交流および教員間の交流も促進され，その波及効果が期待される．

[Abstract] Chiba University Graduate School of Nursing and the University of San Diego, Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on June 2011 to promote their international relationship. This paper reports on the international collaborative education on the future of nursing experienced by graduate nursing students from Chiba University who interacted at University of San Diego under the provisions of the MOU. Six nursing scholars, (four graduate students, a research fellow and a professor), from Chiba University visited the University of San Diego, CA, USA in August, 2016. The aim of this study abroad was to promote: students’ awareness through immersion transcultural experiences, knowledge of a foreign country’s health care policy and system, nursing education, and practice. These experiences enabled the scholars to enrich their own capstone projects. Moreover, the study tour of Betty and Bob Beyster Institute for Nursing Research, Advanced Practice, and Simulation provided a view into the future of nursing that responds to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) report and stimulated the students’ vision regarding innovation. This international collaborative approach promotes the exchange of students and faculties. The ripple effects are expected to be experienced throughout nursing education and research.
