In this paper, the method of "Holistic Scoring" is adopted for the analysis of mathematical writing which is done by Jr. high school students. First of all, the theory and the framework of Holistic Scoring is examined through the previous papers, and the procedure of it for mathematics education is established. Then, the practice of Jr. High students, through three years from 2005 to 2008 with 260 data, is analyzed by Holistic Scoring. Examining with correlation of each criteria, there are several findings as: 1) Neat layout is not necessary for better writing content, however, better writing is always neat. 2) Analyzing from the correlation of each criteria to the total score, detail explanation and depiction of friends' ideas are desired for better writings.
