Abstract
type:text
The purpose of this study is to examine how it affects the outcome of the discussion when the goal is confirmed among the group beforehand. The effect was verified by comparing the points given to the experimental group and control group. The experiment using The Poseidon Adventure as a material shows that the group urged to be aware of the goal and share it with each other had a higher tendency to earn a better score than the other group. Furthermore, the experimental group wrote about the importance of discussions more often than the control group when asked to write free essays. This shows that the former understood the importance of cooperative discussion better than the latter. From these outcomes, it can be concluded that the consensus can be achieved better when a goal is confirmed and shared in a group at the start of the discussion, compared with the group not sharing the goal at the beginning.
