罹患動物と有する飼い主における心気症傾向と心理的ストレス

［Purpose］ This study examined the relationship between hypochondriac tendencies, psychological stress, and owner comfort from a dog in owners of a sick pet. This study also examined the concordance between those factors and subjective assessment of the severity of the pet’s illness by its owner and objective assessment by a veterinarian.［Method］ One hundred and twenty-eight dog owners （18 men and 110 women） who visited Oosagami Animal Clinic completed questionnaires including the Japanese version of Short Health Anxiety Inventory, a scale on owner comfort from a dog, the 18-question Stress Response Scale （SRS-18）, a scale for the owner to subjectively assess the severity of the pet’s illness, and a scale for a veterinarian to objectively assess the severity of the pet’s illness.［Result］ Results of multiple regression analyses revealed that hypochondriac tendencies increased psychological stress, that psychological stress prompted owners to subjectively assess their pet’s illness as more severe, and this assessment increasingly deviated from the veterinarian’s objective assessment of the severity of the pet’s illness. Verbal aggression prompted humor that alleviated anxiety and self-referencing humor. In addition, intense hypochondriac tendencies prompted owner comfort from a dog and increased psychological stress promoted owner comfort from a dog.【目的】本研究の目的は、罹患した犬を有する飼い主における心気症傾向、心理的ストレス、犬による癒し、飼い主の主観的重症度、獣医師の客観的重症度、その一致度との関連性を検討することである。【方法】大相模動物クリニックに来院した犬の飼い主128名（男性18名、女性110名）を対象とし、Short Health Anxiety Inventory日本語版、飼い主の愛犬による癒し尺度、心理的ストレス反応尺度（Stress Response Scale-18）、飼い主の主観的重症度尺度、獣医師の客観的重症度尺度の各質問紙に回答を求めた。【結果】重回帰分析を行った結果、心気症傾向が心理的ストレスを高め、心理的ストレスは、主観的重症度を高め、主観的重症は、客観的重症度との不一致を増加させた。さらに、高い心気症傾向は、犬からの癒しを高め、心理的ストレスの増加は、犬からの癒しを増加させた。
